When I’m photographing corporate events, outdoors is definitely my favourite place to be, and I was grateful for the beautiful weather we had when I covered this particular event a couple of weeks ago for a client.
Held in the lovely surroundings of the John Madejski Garden at the V&A Museum, the champagne reception started at the “golden hour”, that particular time when the sun is just going down and, for a brief moment, everything and everyone is bathed in a beautiful warm glow; it may have been sweltering, but it was worth it for the light.
Guests mingled and chatted and were treated to a private viewing of the David Bowie exhibition, and a short talk by record producer and songwriter, Clive Langer, who has worked with, amongst others, David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Madness and Elvis Costello, with whom he co-wrote the song, Shipbuilding.
The garden really did provide a stunning backdrop to the reception. Here are some of my favourite shots from the evening.
