A couple of weeks ago, Bar des Arts in Guildford hosted the third of their highly successful fashion shows to raise money for local charity, Halow. L K Bennett provided the outfits from their beautiful and very colourful spring collection, and a group of local ladies of different ages took to the catwalk in style. Hair and makeup was all done beautifully (and single-handedly!) by the talented Marijelle Moreno.
If proof were ever needed that what you wear can have a positive effect on your confidence, these ladies supplied it. All the pre-show nerves just seemed to evaporate as soon as they walked out in front of the audience: I was so impressed and I certainly can’t imagine parading in front of a roomful of people in those high heels, as I would definitely have fallen over!
I loved the uplifting spring palette, which provided a welcome relief from all the dark shades of winter. If you’re thinking you can’t wear colour, then I hope these photos will make you think again. It’s all very well seeing clothes modelled in a magazine, but the true test is how they look on real women, and I think these pass with flying colours!
