Last week, on what was the warmest and sunniest day of the year so far, I visited a new client based near Kingston, to take some business headshots on location for them.
Their offices are not far from Kingston Bridge, which provided a very picturesque setting. However, as there was not a cloud in the sky, my first task was to seek out some open shade, away from the glare of the sun. I’m sure I was the only person that day cursing the weather!
After a recce with the client by the river, we settled on a tree-lined spot which gave me the shade I was looking for, although there wasn’t much of it! Basically, I had to position everyone very carefully, so that the tree we were next to was blocking out the glare. The view across the river, combined with the effect of the trees, provided some great backdrops, giving that extra context to the portraits.
They were a great bunch to photograph – very friendly and even helping out by holding my reflector!
